The Technology Assessment Panel of the Soil & Water Environmental Enhancement Program had the mandate to provide leadership in validating new & existing technologies appropriate to Ontario conditions. This report begins with background on the Program, the formation of the Panel, its mandate and functions, team-building process, and implementation plans. This is followed by a review of some results of the efforts of the Program and the Panel with regard to such matters as the interest in conservation, the value of on-farm research and the Program's co-operative approach, technology transfer, information distribution, and Panel procedures. The report concludes with recommendations & suggestions for improvement. The appendix includes a summary of the final Soil & Water Environmental Enhancement Program and Technology Assessment Panel meeting in 1993, a summary of the Panel executive meeting in 1986, observations based on Panel meetings in 1988, a sample implementation plan 1991-92, and a list of future research priorities.
